Once A Year (or More!)

Invite

Have you invited anyone to look at our group lately?  It’s easy to send them to our site and more fun to take them to coffee, or invite them to one of our quarterly meetings to learn more.

One hundred women were asked why they weren’t members of various non-profit groups. The #1 answer given was, “Because nobody asked/invited me.”  Don’t let shyness get the better of you.  Maybe the person you’re thinking of is actually a little put out that you haven’t invited them!

How nominations work

Nominate!

1. Nominate a nonprofit
Know a local nonprofit we should support? Anyone may nominate an eligible organization.

2. Review & selection
A few weeks before each event, the Advisory Team reviews nominations, confirms eligibility, and selects three nonprofits to present at the next event.

3. One-year eligibility window
Once selected to present, a nonprofit remains eligible for one year (up to three events total). After that year, the nonprofit must be nominated again to be considered.

4. Winning nonprofits
A nonprofit that receives funding at an event becomes ineligible to compete again for three years (nine events total). After this period, they may be nominated again.

How can we help?

This is your page, so tell any Advisory member what you’d like to see here.

Here’s a quick reminder regarding your responsibilities as a member of this gift of a group:

Membership is easy

Members agree to...

Members are encouraged to...

  • Ratchet up the collective power of our giving by participating with our chosen non-profit during the quarter in which they are the recipient of our funding (and maybe longer!).
  • Learn more about the effort and participate by rolling up your sleeves to help them attain their goals by giving of your time and talent.

What member engagement can look like

Engagement

After a nonprofit is selected for funding, members are welcome to stay connected during that quarter — and beyond, if they choose.

Engagement may include:

  • Learning more about the organization’s work

  • Attending an event or program

  • Volunteering time or sharing skills

Participation is always optional and self-directed. Members choose how — or whether — to engage.
