Hello there!
Thank you for what you do.
How can my favorite charity get on the agenda?
Participation of non-profits starts with one of our members nominating the organization. Here’s the good news: ANYONE can become a member, and it’s acceptable to nominate a nonprofit with which you have an affiliation. Our Nominations page has all the details on the process and eligibility. Both are still in flux (we’re young and doing our best to be fair and inclusive).
Presenting nonprofits can expect
- clear communication,
- firm time limits, and
- respect for capacity
— with no obligations beyond the event itself.
At the Event
Three charities will have been invited to present, and members will have gathered to hear what each of you has to share. There will be snacks, and the venue will open its no-host beverage bar.
It’s a good idea to arrive early enough to select a table for your charity. If you win, we’ll send donors to your table. If you have AV needs, you can arrange them ahead of time with the venue.
Presentations will be made from a small stage. There is a podium and room for an easel, and for several people, if that’s a way you want to tell your story. Nothing is required!
After all three NPOs have made their pitch, members will digitally vote. The winning nonprofit will be funded, and the other two will have an opportunity to be invited again.
The winning nonprofit should be prepared to receive funds and give receipts. It’s in your best interest to provide as many ways to receive funds as you can (cash, check, credit card, Stripe, Venmo, Square, etc.). You should also be prepared to provide tax receipts to each donor. Some nonprofits pre-fill receipts to make it easier to finalize them at the event and keep the line moving quickly. If you are unfamiliar with the elements that need to be on a tax receipt, we’ll soon have a template for you to (optionally) use. Check back, or contact Keleigh Schwartz for help.
Members who cannot attend the event will contact you within 30 days to make their donation, so be sure to leave information on the best way for them to proceed.
Each member has committed to giving $100 or more to the winning charity at the event. Our membership is growing rapidly; $2300 was collected at our inaugural event in January.
How can you participate?
Participation of non-profits relies on a nomination by one of our members. If you don’t know one, become one!

Your Presentation
At the event, three nonprofits will each have:
-
A quick (3-5 minute) presentation of your NPO, project, etc.
-
A brief (3-5 minute) Q&A with attendees
To ensure fairness for all presenters, time limits are firm and will be enforced. You should do your best to complete both parts within 8 minutes. Our timekeeper will help, and our host, with imaginary hook, will pull you off the stage at 10 minutes if needed,
What to focus on
This presentation is NOT a traditional fundraising pitch. While one organization will receive funding at the event, we ask presenters to think of this as a chance to clearly and authentically share their story.
You are welcome — but not required — to highlight a specific need, project, or moment in your work. Many organizations find it helpful to focus on:
-
Who you serve
-
The impact you’re making locally
-
Why your work matters in our community
Creativity is encouraged. Simplicity is valued. There is no expectation to “earn” votes through polish or production.
What this is — and is not
-
This is not a grant application
-
This is not a pitch competition
-
This is not a reflection of your organization’s worth or effectiveness
All three presenting nonprofits are respected participants in the process.
Event flow
Additional details about timing, logistics, and presentation order will be shared closer to the event. For now, no materials or slides are required –unless you choose to use them.
If you have questions as you prepare, we’re happy to help. Our goal is to make this experience clear, fair, and supportive for everyone involved. Our Advisory Team’s info is on the Contact Us page.
